Report on Umbrella Dance Activity

Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida On 24th July 2024, an activity was organized by the school where students of KG, 1st grade, and 2nd grade participated in an umbrella dance as part of our cultural arts curriculum. The students brought their own umbrellas and danced to “nursery rhymes” by Cocomelon. The students demonstrated enthusiasm and confidence as they executed their routines, showcasing their understanding of the dance practices. Their ability to work as a team. They enjoyed and were very excited during the activity and bonded with other class students too. The KG, 1st grade, and 2nd grade teachers were present along with Ms. Raveena Kapoor, Coordinator, Hillwoods Academy.
Mother’s Day

“When you are looking at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.” —Charley Benetto A special assembly on Mother’s Day was organized on May 10 2024 in the school premises to celebrate Mother’s Day. The main idea was to highlight the importance of mother in the life of a child. Of all the bonds we share during our lifetime, the most special one is the one that we have with our mothers! A mother selflessly fulfils all our desires and cares for us till our last breath. The programme concluded by a series of different cultural activities like enthralling song presentations and mesmerizing dance performances by the students of Classes I to V, which were dedicated to mothers to convey gratitude for their unconditional love. The mothers enthusiastically participated in the eventful games organized for them. The day that recognizes the essence of a mother was concluded in high spirits and merriment.
Investiture Ceremony 2024-25

Investiture Ceremony is the act of conferring authority. This ceremony signifies the confidence and reliance that the school invests in the newly elected office bearers. The students understand that leaders become great by their ability to empower others. Pinning up of the badges. Heritage Week

15- 19 April 2024 Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida organised Heritage Week from 15 April to 19 April 2024. The week aimed to promote the conservation of culture and heritage across the globe. A list of activities and competitions were held during a week-long festival which aimed to spread awareness about the traditions and cultures of different parts of the India. The week commenced with the introduction and explanation of cultural heritage in a broad sense through well devised audio – visual and hand on activities for all the Classes from I -XII. Special Assembly was organised on the World Heritage Day on 18 April and urge to foster a sense of pride in cultural diversity which encompasses Built Heritage, Natural Heritage, Art & Culture and Performing Art, defining us while emphasising our collective responsibilities. Inter House Heritage Quiz based on Art and Heritage Sites was conducted for Class IX to XII in which Ujjain House stood as a winner and Raj Singh from Nalanda House bagged 1st position, Tanvi Sharma from Sanchi House got 2nd position and House secured 3rd prize in Drawing & Painting Competition held for the Class VI to VIII.
Eco-Seminar, 2024

“Join the race to make the world a better place.” Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida organized its annual event Eco-seminar on 24 August 2024 to focus on the urgent need to adopt sustainable practices to mitigate the impacts of climate change, deforestation, and pollution. Prestigious schools of NCR and Delhi participated in the various competitions which were held to propel young minds towards individual accountability for environment protection. The students showcased their creativity and innovative ideas in Ananda Kuteera: Cottage of Joy; The Good Life: Brochure Making; Mindful Movements: PPT Making; and Logic Leads Us, Debate Competition. The event was graced by Special Guests Ms. Rajni Sood, an eco- activist and Ms. Nidhi Malhotra Ma’am, an Environmentalist and Fashion Designer. Ms. Rajni Sood in her address invoked the students to be the protagonist and warriors against the use of plastic consumption and its recycling. The event commenced with the of the ceremonial lamp lighting followed by a musical rendition by the choir group. In her welcome address, The Head of the School, Ms. Meeta Arora expressed gratitude to the special guests and participants. She shared her vision for individual accountability for the cause of environmental protection. The Head Girl of the School, Mansi Sharma in her impactful speech highlighted the urgent need for environmental action and presented practical ways by which we can make a difference. Mahira Qamar, prefect of the Eco Club presented the ECO REPORT summarizing the achievements and progress of the initiatives and endeavours undertaken by the school throughout the session. To reaffirm our commitment to environment, stewardship and sustainability Eco Pledge was administered. The focal point of the day was the Dance- Drama “THE CHANGING TIDES OF NATURE” which highlighted the beauty of the world we’ve lost but also served a powerful reminder of the urgent need to protect what remains. Striving to be responsible environmentalists, saplings were planted by the distinguished guests. In the Valedictory Ceremony, the yearly newsletter ‘Green Pages’ was released by the honoured guests of the day. The winners of the competitive events were felicitated. Ms. Nidhi Malhotra, the revered guest in her note had all praise for the efforts and inputs by the students. The program was concluded with the Vote of Thanks and with the hope to gather again with more innovative and experiential ideas towards the protection of environment.
Graduation Ceremony & Orientation Programme

21March, 2024 Hillwoods Academy organized its Graduation Ceremony for the young Kindergarten students; and Orientation Programme to welcome the new students and parents in the Hillwoods Family from the new session 2024-25. The parents, students and all the invited guests were equally enthusiastic for the special occasion. The event commenced with the customary lamp lighting and rendition of prayer to Saraswati Vandana. The students of primary section welcomed all the esteemed guests with a melodious song followed by an adorable dance performance. The tiny tots of Class I, II Class III mesmerised the audience with their confident enactment to showcase the theme of Friendship, Story of Butterfly and Story of Zero respectively. This was followed by the conferring of graduate diplomas and trophies to the tiny tots who walked impressively in their graduation robes and caps. The young graduates shared their experience and beautiful memories with the audience. The exuberant and perfectly synchronized dance performances by the student of Class II to III were highly appreciated by all the participants. The School Head addressed and enlightened the parents about the glorious history; and motto of the Hillwoods Fraternity which believes in the holistic development of each learner by imbibing the life skills required for being a resourceful citizen of the nation. In her speech, she invoked the parents for their support and cooperation in shaping the future of the students in the best way. The memorable day concluded with the distribution of the report cards and best wishes for the commencement of the new academic session.
Diwali Celebration, 2024

The festival of light, Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida on 29.10.24. The day commenced with a Special Assembly in which the students presented devotional song and beautifully choreographed dance. To spread awareness about pollution free and inclusive celebration the students of Class VI to XI participated in Green Rally. They carried placards and posters displaying the message of celebrating eco-friendly Diwali. The effective Nukkad Natak tuned with the theme portrayed by the students of Class IX and XI was highly appreciated by the audience.
World Book Day

‘Books give soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.’ In order to provide a propitious environment where the young talents would think out of the box and have a great learning experience, a World Book Day Celebration was held on 23th April 2024 at Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida wherein students participated in numerous engrossing activities like Book Mark Making & DEAR (Drop Everything And Read). The students of classes I& II enjoyed the ‘Bookmark Making’ activity and made beautiful bookmarks using eco-friendly materials and wrote thoughtful quotes on the importance of reading. DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) programme was conducted for the teachers and students, it was an enriching experience as it encouraged reading and the love for books. The school head interacted with the students and motivated them to read more. “Today A Reader, Tomorrow A Leader”.
“Winter is not a season, it’s a celebration.”
Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida organized its Winter Carnival on 21.12.24. which brought together students, teachers, and parents for a day filled with festive joy. The students took initiatives and participated whole heartedly to indulge in different activities. Many entertaining games and interesting activities were organized at the fete. A Winter Wonderland theme was embraced across the grounds with twinkling lights and a large Christmas tree adorned with ornaments created by the students. Soon after the inauguration, the school ground was occupied by enthusiastic visitors. Festivities marked each and every corner of the ground. Gaily decorated stalls , each trying to outdo others, welcomed the eager visitors. The numerous lip-smacking delicacies Food Stalls were a big attraction and so were the various Games Stalls put up by the students for all age groups. The tiny tots enjoyed Trampoline and Joy Rides to the fullness of their hearts. Students showcased their talents with a series of performances, including winter-themed dance and choir songs. More fun and merriment was in store in the form of ‘Open Mic’, ‘ Ramp Show’, ‘Tambola’ and ‘Raffle Draw’ where the participants thronged in and participated eagerly and won several interesting prizes. All the guests and the participants captured their dynamic memory at the vibrantly decorated Selfie Point. Lively and energetic feet tapped to the latest beats of popular songs. Students and parents immersed themselves in a cultural extravaganza, enjoying music, dance, games, and delectable treats from various stalls. In the end, the day turned out to be a beautiful confluence of winter and all its festive glory marking a jubilant way of ushering in the New Year.

Hillwoods Academy added a new feather in its wing by inaugurating the 1st edition of Hillwoods Academy Model United Nations Committee Greater Noida (HAMUCGR) on 17 December 2024. The event was graced by, Brigadier Sanjay Agarwal, Sena Medal Bar & a veteran. Brigadier Agarwal is the former Security Advisor, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India; Advisor, National Highway Authority of India; Advisor to the Govt of Seychelles and President of the Services Selection Board in the Govt of India. A Distinguished Professor at SRM IST NCR Campus, FMS. He is a regular speaker on success in life, leadership, strategy planning, management and motivational issues in various government, industry and academics circles. The day commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest along with Ms. Rita Srivastava, Director, Hillwoods Academy and Ms. Meenakshi Butail, Vice-Principal , Hillwoods Academy, symbolizing the beginning of this auspicious occasion. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest of the day by the Vice Principal in honour of his presence. A melodious performance was presented by the school choir to welcome the guests and the participants. The committees and the agendas were introduced setting the incredible line of sessions ahead. HAMUNCGR, 2024 souvenir was unveiled by Brigadier Agarwal. In his address, Brigadier Agarwal referred global leaders like Sundar Pichai and Boyan Slat, urging students to become the “future pillars of the world.” He inspired the young delegates to embrace innovation and global responsibility, encouraging them to rise as tomorrow’s leaders with courage and vision. Additionally, he accentuated the significance of the platform in developing students’ communication abilities, which would equip them with the necessary skills to engage in diplomatic dialogues in the future. Ginisha Gulati , Secretary General, officially opened the conference by striking the gavel. The second day of HAMUNC concluded with a splendid closing ceremony on 18 December 2024, which began with a energizing performance by the students of Class VII. Ms, Sangeeta Singh, Principal, Hillwoods Academy in her address praised the Organising Committee for their efforts and urged them to be motivated to conduct and participate in these types of events in future. Vice Principal in her address thanked all the delegates and congratulated the Organising Committee for their tireless effort which made the event a great success. The ceremony featured memento presentations to the Executive Board and awards for delegates, including trophies and certificates in categories such as Special Mention, High Commendation, and Best Delegate. The school secretariat was also acknowledged for their efforts. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Deputy General Kanisk Bhati, and Ginisha Gulati formally closed the conference.
